Vario System Illuminated Magnifiers
Illuminated Stand Magnifiers
The magnification heads range in power from 2.8x
to 12.5x and in sizes from the large post-card format, binocular vision
lenses, down to small lenses (30 mm), for high monocular magnification.
The high quality, aspheric lenses are made of PXM® and feature Duplex
coating that hardens the lens to resist scratching and static. The System-Vario
range of illuminated magnifiers has a newly designed aspheric lens featuring
the best possible imaging properties provided that the minimum distance
between the eye and the lens is observed. For this purpose, the magnification
as well as the minimum distance between the eye and the lens is printed
in millimeters on the frame of the lens. For example, the markings 4/180
= 4 x magnification at the eye to lens distance of 180 mm. All System-Vario
magnifiers can be ordered in three different combinations. These combinations
are distinguished by the numbers following the hyphen in the product order
number.

Illuminated Handles
Incandescent Battery Handle
This handle is portable and is best used for quick
reading tasks. This version can be used for extended reading; however,
keep in mind that the batteries will only last up to 8 hours. This version
needs two C batteries to operate. Batteries not included. Incandescent
battery handle can be used with any ESCHENBACH magnification head, except
Highlighters.

Ideal for those who like the brightness of the
halogen plug-in handle but want portability. As with all battery versions,
this handle is best used for quick reading tasks. Please note that batteries
will only last up to 2 hours due to the strength of the halogen bulb. This
version needs 3 C batteries to operate. Batteries not included. Halogen
battery handle for use with any magnification head, except Highlighters.

Halogen Plug-In Handle
This handle is designed for extended reading tasks
such as reading the newspaper. The halogen plug-in handle is cost effective
since the user does not need to purchase batteries and can extend the life
of the bulb by lowering the rheostat. For portability, either of the battery
handles listed above can be purchased and replaced on the magnification
head. Halogen plug-in handle with rheostat can be used with any ESCHENBACH
magnification head, except Highlighters. The transformer is UL listed.
