Al Nagler designed the Panoptic eyepiece to replace the original TeleVue Widefield series. The development of Tele Vue's Paracorr coma corrector revealed some astigmatism in the Widefield design - this led to the birth of the Panoptic and their deserved reputation for being "tack sharp"!
The ED glass element offers very high contrast. An excellent all round eyepiece for open clusters and bright, extended nebulae.
