Kendrick are the premier name in dew control for telescopes.
We are very please to be able to offer the following products from their range.

Kendrick RDF
The custom molded Kendrick RDF Heater presses onto a Red Dot Finder of the type shown in the photographs below and is held in place by friction. It includes a 1.8 meter power cable. This heater will work with all of our controllers but if used with our MICRO controller, it will require the #2001-FL-ADAP Micro to RCA adapter.

Field testing has proven this heater to be very effective at dew removal and dew prevention. Typically a low to medium controller setting will be fine to keep this finder free of moisture. It draws very little current and at a typical 40% controller setting for example, this heater will draw only .08 amp (less than a 10th of an amp!)

NEW! THE FIRELITE CONTROLLER

Our newest controller! . FireLite Controller
The FireLite Controller is the newest addition to our controller line and represents a new family of controllers and heaters for Kendrick. Designed for Astronomers and Astrophotographers who want the ultimate in lighweight, compact, Grab'n'Go gear.
Ideal for use with small telescopes and DSLR Cameras.

Why does it represent a "new family of controllers and heaters"?
Due to the very compact design of this controller, we have had to go a totally new connector for the heaters.
For this reason we have created a new heater line to go with this controller, the FireLite Heaters.

# Due to its size, the FireLite does have some limitations. Those limitations are: It has a maximum load capacity of 1.5 amps.
# Room for two heaters only.
# It can only be used with our FireLite (NOT Premier or FireFly) heaters. The FireLite heaters have a special connector that will allow them to connect to the FireLite controller.

NEW! THE STANDARD DUAL CHANNEL CONTROLLER

This controller has been introduced to replace our original, long standing Model VI controller. The Standard Dual Channel has a ton of new features but is really simple to use! As well, it can handle more power and use that power more efficiently! We are very excited about this newest addition to our Dew Remover System!
NOW SHIPPING!
Features & Specifications:

* We have fused the power cord at 7 amps even though the controller is capable of amperages of 5 amps per channel (10 amps total). We do not recommend replacing the power cord fuse with a larger fuse as the power input socket is not rated for a higher amperage.

Heaters
NEWFIREFLY HEATERS
Kendrick's new FireFly heaters are designed for the astronomer who requires a dew prevention system that is both economical in price and power.
Although unable to perform up to the high standards as our original Premier brand of heaters, astronomers and anyone else requiring heated optics for dew prevention can depend on our FireFly heaters to perform under all but the most demanding observing conditions. Note that if your observing site gets temperatures that approach freezing on the nights you like to observe, you should consider the Premier line of heaters.

Having lower power requirements than our Premier heater line, these heaters will extend the life of your battery between charges.
Using a different heater technology but operating under the same principle as our Premier line of heaters, these heaters will mildly disperse heat into your optics without compromising the figure of your telescope or camera optics.

As well, because of our unique manufacturing process, the FireFly heaters will direct their heat into your optics instead of losing it into the atmosphere.
We have had these heaters independently tested for heat transmission and the resulting images below clearly show the effectiveness of our build technology.
These heaters are very effective in directing most of the heat into the optics which is important if dew is to be prevented.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE: Some competing manufacturers of low wattage heaters make claims that their heaters, with half the wattage of our Premier line of heaters, will perform just as well as our Premier heaters, and at a much lower price!
Well, this is true to a point but once you get down to temperatures approaching freezing, forget it, it just ain't gonna happen! You cannot escape the laws of Physics.
Half the wattage means have the power, end of story. We make no such claims about our FireFly heaters. They do have their limitations.

The above image shows the outward facing surface of a Firefly heater.
The above image shows the inside, or optic heating side of a FireFly heater.
This surface shows a +20°C difference from the outward facing surface proving the effectiveness of our manufacturing process in directing the heat into your optics.

We use high quality Velcro, elastic and connectors with these heaters. All the FireFly heaters come branded with our permanent, white identification label for easy identification in the field.

See our return policy for a full explanation of our warranties and return policies.
Heaters are available to suit almost all astronomical instruments from telescopes to finders and everything in between.
Put your heaters in place at the beginning of an observing session with the standard controller at or near its lowest setting.
This should be good enough for most observing sessions.
The high setting is only recommended for removing moisture already collected on your objectives or for cold winter nights.
If moisture has formed on your optics, put the standard controller on high and wait 15 to 30 minutes for the optics to warm up.
SCTs should clear by then, refractors can have excess moisture removed with a tissue. You can then reset the standard controller to a lower setting.

NEWFIRELITE HEATERS
IMPORTANT! It is important to note the maximum amperage capacity of this controller is 1.5 amps. What does this mean?
Basically it means that you will have to choose your heaters carefully, otherwise you will end up blowing fuses.
All the heaters offered in the FireLite line are 1.5 amps or less.
If you want to use two heaters with the FireLite controller, you will have to make sure that the total amperage does not exceed 1.5 amps.
The amperage of the heaters is shown in the chart below.

Like all our other heaters, the FireFly heaters will direct their heat into your optics instead of losing it into the atmosphere.
We use the same construction methods and materials as our Premier and FireFly heaters.
These heaters are very effective in directing most of the heat into the optics which is important if dew is to be prevented.

So where do these heaters and the FireLite controller excel? See the partial list below:

* Anyone who wants to travel light with a small telescope.
* Anyone who uses a DSLR camera for astrophotography.
* Anyone who wants an inexpensive dew control system.
* Anyone who wants a compact lightweight solution for smallish optics where weight and balance are of importance (ie: Dobsonain secondary mirrors, finders, etc).

Power Requirements
Please bear in mind that the following table of amp hour ratings is to be considered accurate only if the standard controller is set at high.
Under normal operating conditions these ratings can be reduced by 40% to 60% as the normal standard controller setting is medium to low.

NOTE: Please keep in mind that the standard controller is fused at 5 Amps and you cannot put a higher load on it without blowing the fuse.
Looking at the Amp Hour Ratings table, one can see that certain combinations of heaters will go over 5 Amps.
In that case more than one controller will be required since the total load on a single controller should not exceed 5 Amps.
