StarShoot Monochrome Imager II and LRGB Filter Pkg
* This complete LRGB imaging package includes the
StarShoot Deep Space Monochrome Imager II (DSMI II), Multiple 5-Filter
Wheel, and the LRGB filter set at a considerable savings
* The DSMI II utilizes a 1/2" format Sony monochrome
CCD with a 752x582 pixel array for optimum sensitivity and resolution,
and superior color rendition
* DSMI II has active thermoelectric cooling (TEC),
which dramatically reduces electronic noise for better-quality images.
* The LRGB set features dichroic glass filters designed
for maximum transmission. The color filters have an IR-blocking coating.
* The Multiple 5-Filter Wheel allows you to change
filters easily with observing or imaging.
StarShoot Deep Space CCD Monochrome Imager II
The best color astrophotos are composed from shots taken with a monochrome
camera through separate Red, Green, Blue, and Luminance (LRGB) filters.
This "tri-color" technique leverages the CCD chip's full sensitivity and
resolution, and gives you greater flexibility in processing than you get
with single-shot color images.
With the StarShoot Deep Space Monochrome Imager II ("SSDSMI-II") and a set of LRGB filters (sold separately), you will be on the cutting edge of imaging technology, using the same technique professional astronomers employ to create dazzling portraits of galaxies, nebulas, star clusters, and planets.
Designed for intermediate and avid amateur astronomers, the SSDSMI-II
utilizes a 1/2" format Sony monochrome CCD with a 752x582 pixel array.
It provides higher sensitivity and resolution than the SSDSIC-II's (#52080)
color CCD chip. The monochrome camera also excels for narrow-band imaging
with specialized filters such as H-alpha, SII, and OIII.
And it makes a highly sensitive autoguider.
Unlike the competition's similar camera, our SSDSMI-II has active thermoelectric cooling (TEC), which dramatically reduces electronic noise for better-quality images. The included MaxIm DL Essentials software provides an easy interface for focusing, capturing, batch processing, and stacking multiple exposures, and even autoguiding with a second camera.
Power for the camera is supplied through your computer's high-speed USB 2.0 port via the included 10' USB 2.0 cable. The TEC system requires two D-cell batteries, not included. One-year limited warranty.
Multiple 5-Filter Wheel
Here's a wonderfully efficient way to dial-in the filter you want for
observing or photography. With the 5-Filter Wheel, you can change filters
without removing your eyepiece or camera. Just rotate the wheel with light
finger pressure and the selected filter clicks into place.
Planetary observers can switch among several color filters, and deep-sky
observers can compare views in "A/B" fashion through broadband and narrowband
filters. Astrophotographers can shoot sequentially and without interruption
through the filters required for RGB and LRGB imaging all "locked and loaded"
in prominently numbered wells. Holds up to five standard 1.25" filters,
or one can be left out for unfiltered viewing. Anodized aluminum housing
protects filters from dirt, moisture, and impact better than sliding filter
tray designs.
Attaches directly to telescope via removable 1.25" nosepiece or T-thread,
and accepts 1.25" accessories or camera nosepiece. Ideal for use with Orion
StarShoot or DSLR cameras. Requires additional 20mm focus travel.
LRGB Imaging Filter Set
