The observatory is owned and operated by the Sutherland Astronomical Society in the southern Sydney suburb of Green Point (Oyster Bay). The two observatory buildings house a 41cm reflector and a Celestron C14 SCT. Viisitors are most welcome; the observatory is open on all Thursday evenings. The Society also runs regular open nights which are very popular with the general public.
