LX90-ACF For the truly discerning astronomer who will not tolerate anything but the very best, there is Meade's Advanced Coma-Free (ACF) optical system. ACF takes all of the features of the SC models and then ups the ante. With it's technologically superior optical design, ACF gives a flatter, coma-free field of view with pinpoint images all the way to the edge of the field. ACF is the perfect solution for the serious astroimager or visual astronomer looking for observatory-class optics.


The LX90 with ACF optics is sure to impress even the fussiest critic. Accuracy, reliability and generous light gathering make this telescope a great choice. The addition of Advanced Coma Free optics puts it a step ahead of traditional SCT designs.


The LX90 is a telescope that will satisfy keen amateurs for many years. From occasional visual deep sky observation to CCD imaging or recording and reporting minor planet occultations, the LX90 will keep going night after night.



 

AUTOALIGN™ – The Meade LX90GPS is very easy to align. Autostar picks two bright alignment stars for you and points the telescope to them. Just center them to fine tune your alignment and the wonders of the universe are at your fingertips.

DIFFRACTION-LIMITED MEADE ACF OPTICS - Meade individually figures their water-white corrector lenses and Pyrex® primary and secondary mirrors for superior smoothness and correction. Pyrex ensures temperature stability and water-white correctors (together with UHTC coatings) maximise light transmission. Advanced Coma Free optics provide a wider coma free field of view for exceptional visual and photographic results.

OVERSIZED PRIMARY MIRROR – Only Meade manufactures their primary mirrors in diameters larger than their listed aperture (e.g. the diameter of the 8" LX90’s primary mirror is actually 8.25").This additional 1/4" yields a wider, fully illuminated field-of-view, and allows you to see the light other telescopes leave behind.

Slew Speed – The LX90GPS slews (moves) from star to star at 7 degrees per second. That is more than twice as fast as the competition. This means that over the course of an evening, a Meade LX90GPS will show you more objects.

RIGID CAST ALUMINIUM FORK MOUNT – The Meade LX90GPS's Optical Tube Assembly is mounted on two sturdy fork arms giving you a rock solid platform for astrophotography.

LX200™ - SERIES TRIPOD – The LX90GPS comes standard with the same sturdy field tripod as the LX200-ACF series telescope.

SMART DRIVE™ – Meade’s AutoStar® provides Periodic Error Correction (in polar mode). Over the course of one or more training periods your LX90GPS will minimize guiding corrections needed during astrophotography.

NEW AudioStar Computer Controller
