The Sky-Watcher SW80ED Optical Tube Assembly is an apochromatic doublet design incorporating one element made from ED (Extra-low Dispersion) FPL-53 glass.
This glass minimizes chromatic aberration, providing higher resolution and superior contrast. Colour fringing around objects is completely eliminated with this optic.
The SW80ED OTA also features an extremely smooth, backlash-free 2-Inch Crayford focuser. The focuser wheels contain brushed-aluminum hubs with ridged rubber grip rings. A 1.25-inch adaptor is included for smaller eyepiece applications, with a T-thread camera adaptor combined!
