The Centaurus Astronomical Society, is a group of people located in the Bathurst region of New South Wales, Australia. It was established in November 2000 and now boasts a membership of around 40 and growing fast. We all have a common interest, Astronomy, and with the use of the Bathurst Observatory we hold regular meetings, and undertake many projects together.
The name Centaurus was chosen due to the fact that Centaurus is always visible from Bathurst, and it surrounds the Southern Cross.
Our our meetings are now followed by a practical component and these activities can be viewed on the events page.
