The Hamilton Astronomical Society was formed in 1933 and is one of the oldest of New Zealand’s 25 amateur astronomical societies. Our core objective is to provide the people of the Waikato with an opportunity to learn about astronomy and to share their enthusiasm with like minded people.
Any interested person is welcome to become a member and to participate in Society activities. Membership entitles you to:
- Free admission to all public events.
- Free admission to society nights (monthly gathering for members only).
- Access to the members area of the HAS website.
- Monthly newsletter.
- Access to other privileges (e.g. the library)
