Al Nagler has taken the wide field concept and brought Nagler-like performance down to the 60°+ class of eyepiece. The result is the Panoptic, a sharp, wide field eyepiece that has kept size, weight, and cost down, whilst improving performance right to the edge of the field.

Review
An excellent premium quality low power eyepiece. It is ideal for observing large emission and reflection nebulae, Supernova Remnants and large open star clusters.
It is very well suited to large f/4.5 Dobsonians giving 6mm exit pupil. Is a great low power eyepiece in short focal length refractors, for example, with the TV 102, it gives 31x and a true field over 130 arc minutes.
It has 16mm of eye relief and can be used by eyeglass wearers with no vignetting of the field. Images are sharp right to the edge of the field.
This is a lot of eyepiece so its heavy weight may cause some minor concern in Dobsonians. One of the favourite eyepieces of Bintel’s Technicians.
