ZWO 1600MM Pro Kit3
A perfect set up for deep sky imaging !
Based on the very successful ASI 1600MM Pro imager and including an 8 position 36mm electronic filterwheel and a set of 36mm LRGB dichoronic filters and the ZWO 7nm Narrowband set of H-alpha, Oxygen II and SII filters. The ZWO 1600MM Pro Kit3 really does offer the best value for the discerning astro imager with faster focal length scopes
ZWO ASI 1600MM Pro Imaging Camera
DDR Memory Buffer
ASI1600 Pro camera includes a 256MB DDR3 memory buffer to help improve data transfer reliability. Additionally, the use of a memory buffer minimizes amp-glow, which is caused by the slow transfer speeds when the camera is used with a USB 2.0 port.
ZWO’s ASI1600 Pro offers very good performance for astrophotography – low read noise, low dark current, high dynamic range.
The ASI1600MM Pro uses a 12bit ADC but can provide 12.5 stops dynamic range thanks to its extremely low read noise (even better than the popular KAF8300).
Reliable Mechanical Structures
Refinements to the new ASI1600MM Pro ensure a properly sealed CMOS sensor chamber. This design has been fully tested and is very stable.
Even under high humidity environments, the ASI1600MM Pro still works fine and won’t have dew problems.
USB 3.0 Port & USB2.0 HUB
USB 3.0 Port: Provides 5Gb bandwidth making it possible for the ASI1600MM Pro to run at 14.7 fps (12bit, normal mode) or 23fps (10bit, high speed mode) at full 16MP resolution (4656×3520). Much faster frame rates can be achieved using region of interest (ROI).
A 12V at 3A~5A or more DC adapter is necessary for cooler power supply (2.1 x 5.5, center positive). SLA or other battery from 9-15V is also suitable for a cooling power supply.
NOTE: POWER SOURCE FOR TEC COOLING IS NOT SUPPLIED WITH THE CAMERA
USB 2.0 HUB: Power various accessories, such as filter wheel, guide camera and electronic focuser from the in-built USB2.0 hub. Cable management is easy using the 2 short 0.5m USB2.0 cables supplied with the ASI1600MM Pro. Power is applied to the hub from your external power supply if you connect it.
7 x 36mm Filter Wheel
NEW from ZWO EFW 7x36mm. ZWO have a brand new USB filter wheels!.
The EFW 7x36mm features a 7 position carousel for 36mm unmounted filters.
Now you can hold your LRGB and a set of Narrowband filters in the one filter wheel.
Suitable for the NEW ZWO Narrowband 36mm Filter Set
The ZWO LRGB 36mm filter has better transmission, better coating, better colour separation
the RGB colour combine weights will be approximately 1:1:1
- Fine-optically polished to ensure accurate 1/4 wavefront
- more than 92% transmission at bandpass
- Infrared wavelength 700-1100nm cut-off
- Precision off-band blocking
- Multi-layers anti-reflection coating
- Small spectral “gap” to minimize effect of light pollution
- More parfocal – thickness 2 mm
Name: ZWO 36mm LRGB filter (4 filters)
ZWO Narrowband Filter Set 7nm
The Narrowband filters do not eliminate the effects of light pollution or increase the object’s brightness. In many cases, they increase the contrast between nebula and night sky, not brightening the nebula.
They can reduce the transmission of certain wavelengths of light, specifically those produced by artificial light including mercury vapour, and both high and low pressure sodium vapour lights and the unwanted natural light caused by neutral oxygen emission in our atmosphere (i.e. skyglow).
The ZWO H-Alpha filter has a bandpass of 7nm and passes light at 656nm wavelength, light transmission rate comes up to 80%. Best choice of narrowband H-alpha astrophotography filter for high-contrast imaging and revealing rich details of the nebula even in areas with strong light pollution, just prepare to experience the infinite fun with it !
The ZWO narrowband S-II 7nm filter passes light at 672nm wavelength with a bandpass of 7nm which is designed for nebula observation . It is suitable for visual observation on most emission nebulae, planetary nebulae and supernova remnants, use it with H-alpha and OIII narrowband filters (SHO Set) for tricolour CCD astrophotography.
The ZWO narrowband O-III 7nm filter is designed for nebula observation allowing 7nm bandwidth of light centered on a wavelength of 500nm through, which corresponds to OIII emission lines, blocking out all other light. Adding the ZWO O-III Narrowband filter to your imaging collection will help you go beyond the RGB imaging and will help capture your favourite nebulas in a totally new light, no matter how polluted your skies may be!
- Hubble look of images can be made by the combination of H-alpha, OIII-CCD and SII-CCD, such as the famous “Pillars of Creation” (M16 Eagle Nebula)
- Narrowband imaging with SHO set (H-alpha, OIII-CCD and SII-CCD) can be done with the moon up in heavy light pollution, so your equipment is not sitting dormant for several weeks
- H-alpha filter is the first narrowband addition to LRGB set for most imagers who blend a black-and-white Ha image into RGB data to enhance structural detail while maintaining natural look
ZWO 1600MM Pro Kit3 is the best option if you have a scope that produces a large image circle or if faster that f/5
